Last Shot blog

Last Shot is a book about two kids who win a sportswriting contest to cover the NCAA final four for a newspaper. One of those kids is Stevie, a basketball fan who hates Duke, a team competing for the championship. The other is Susan Carol, a die hard Duke basketball fan, so the two do not start off friendly. But when walking back from a press conference, they overhear that Duke will blackmail Minnesota state's star player if he does not throw the game so Duke can win the championship. Stevie and Susan Carol have to work together and help stop Duke from wrecking the Final Four.
I have read other books by the author, John Feinstein, because this is the first book in the series. In other ones they cover the Super Bowl, The U.S Open and the World Series, in which they stumble over some huge problem every time, including kidnapping and murder. All of the books have one real team with real players, and one fake team with fake players, except the baseball one, which the pitcher is fake but on a real team. All the other books are really good, but Last Shot is the best, because there are no boring parts, lots of stuff that you wouldn't expect and always a great finish.
